SO YOU'RE A NEOPHYTE TEACHER?

NEOPHYTE TEACHER'S LEARNING EXPERIENCES

Somehow I learned few things that are very important to me as I grow on my profession as a teacher. I am a very new teacher to our school but I am trying my best to fit in but I learned all of the following things that really matters in the field of work rather than fitting in.

1. KEEP YOUR PASSION A PURPOSE

Make your love for teaching as your way of telling to yourself that God wants you to live because He has a great purpose of your life and that is to be a teacher to your students. KEEP THE FIRE BURNING. Always remind yourself that the passion that you have right now is different from wanting it. You are on this situation because your abilities and skills encompass what God had set for you.

2. BEING BITTER IS NOT BETTER

If you feel bad because of your failures and mistakes do not put yourself down. YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THAT SITUATION. Everyone has there own flaws. We make mistakes because we want to learn. Place a space for yourself to grow. Do not pity and ridicule yourself. You are what you are! You're mistakes are part of you. Love yourself so you can love other people.

3. TRUST GOD ABOVE ALL!

To gain self confidence on one's self is very important. You should have the ability to believe that you can but do not forget to believe first in God because He will be the reason why will you do something good and great because His confidence will lift you up!

4. OPEN YOUR CHANNEL OF COMMUNICATION

If you are so shy and very timid as they say, you are not a TEACHER then. But, it's okay, there's nothing wrong being like that but do not let yourself to be jailed forever of that kind of feeling. BE BRAVE AND GO OUT! I can feel you okay? So just go out and start with small conversation to people whom you are comfortable to be with. Seek advice from them. It's okay to be shy but remember you are a precious person in the eyes of God so little by little take off that shyness in you.

5. WHEN IN DOUBT ASK TO THE RIGHT PERSON

This, I learned it in a very hard way. Several times I am misjudged and misinterpreted of people in the workplace due to my PRIDE. We all have PRIDE. And sometimes if we will let them go down and swallow this one what would be left for them then? It's not good also for some people to easily pull down and get rid of PRIDE. Sometimes that is the only thing that they have as a person. So why take it away? But as what others say, PRIDE makes the relationship ruined. Keep your PRIDE as a person but take away the PRIDE as someone that hinders the way of communication and relationship.

To ask does not lower down PRIDE but people are the ones that judge but we cant tame them for us to be happy about our job. We need to be happy of ourselves and what we can do for other people not because we want to please them but because we want to be happy on our labor.

6. TRY AND TRY AGAIN!

There is nothing wrong of committing mistakes we have different pace. be patient to yourself we learn in different speed and direction. Even though we are wrong and we stumble all over again, TRY! TRY! TRY!

7. LOVE THE UNLOVABLE

Love your students who are really challenging. DO NOT HATE THEM. instead, LOVE THEM.

Students have different needs and to be honest we can't cater them all. But we can assure that there is someone for them when they needed help and that is us, TEACHERS.

DO NOT GIVE UP on them. Because when you give trust and respect to them they will surely give you a lot more with all that they are.

8. DO NOT FORGET YOURSELF

Treat yourself at the end of the day for a job well done. Eat out all by yourself. Or treat yourself of Ice cream or any sweets! Delight yourself because you have done something for the day! Encourage yourself everyday! Do not doubt your abilities and skills. You are made in the very image of GOD.

9. PRAY EVERYDAY!

DO NOT FORGET THIS ANTIDOTE OF HEALING, THANKSGIVING AND PRAISES FOR HIM Because at the end of our lives as a teacher we will all boil down to a single question: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR HIM?

I hope in this way, I could help new teachers that are also struggling on their job because of so many things going on. I PRAY FOR YOUR WELFARE! LET US KEEP THE FIRE BURNING IN OUR HEARTS! KUDOS!
